How to file

How to file in Collin County

  1. Step 1 · by 17 May 2027

    File the protest

Online at onlineportal.collincad.org with the account number on your notice, or by mailing Form 50-132. State the grounds the county recognises: incorrect appraised value and unequal appraisal.

  2. Step 2 · before the hearing

    Prepare and submit your evidence

Ask the appraisal district for the evidence it will use at the hearing; it must make it available at least 14 days before (Tex. Tax Code §41.461). Bring your own: comparable appraised values (for an unequal-appraisal protest), photos of condition issues, repair estimates and any recent sales you have. Saying the value is wrong is not enough; the panel decides on evidence.

  3. Step 3

    Meet, then hear

An informal review with Collin Central Appraisal District appraiser comes first; if you decline the offer, the Collin Central Appraisal District Appraisal Review Board hears the case. Most reductions happen at the first step.
